In-person Q&A with filmmaker Terry Zwigoff following the screening GHOST WORLD is the joyfully glib 2001 comedy from director Terry Zwigoff and screenwriter/comic book artist Daniel Clowes. Based on Clowes' ‘90s alternative comic book, GHOST WORLD stars Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson as two teenage girls unsure of where to go with their lives once they’ve graduated high school. Combatting their uncertainty with a healthy dose of cynicism, the girls spend their days mocking others as a way to postpone their own adult responsibilities. A prank against a middle-aged sad sack of a record collector (played by Steve Buscemi) grows into a friendship between the collector and one of the girl
