Affiliate links
Some outbound buttons take you to ticketing partners (Fandango, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, Alamo Drafthouse, Amazon Associates) through an affiliate link. If you buy something, we may earn a small commission. The price you pay is the same either way, and we never let an affiliate relationship change the order events appear in or whether they appear at all.
Every affiliate link carries a visible "Disclosure" pill above the button. The pill says which program we're using when it's relevant (e.g. "via Fandango").
Advertising
We run Google AdSense in one slot per page, on certain page types (homepage, city pages, guides). We don't run ads on event detail pages, the /alerts dashboard, /partners, /media-kit, or any compliance page. Every ad is labeled "Advertisement" in plain text outside the ad frame.
Direct sponsorships
Studios, distributors, theatres, and orgs can buy specific placements (newsletter, city page, homepage). Every paid placement is labeled "Sponsored" per FTC 16 CFR 255. We do not accept anonymous sponsorship. The buyer is on the label.
Featured-partner ranking
Up to 6 partners hold "Featured" status at any time. On city pages, Featured partners' events appear in the top row with a "Featured" tag. The rest of the page (and every other surface) uses the neutral sort: chronological by start time, then by distance from your location.
Featured is earned, not bought. We never sell ranking on event detail, the homepage feed, or search.
What we are not
- Not owned by, operated by, or endorsed by any studio, distributor, theater chain, or ticketing platform.
- Not the official RSVP host. We link to Gofobo / 1iota / Advance Screenings / studio portals; they own the funnel.
- Not paid to feature any individual movie or screening unless that placement is labeled "Sponsored".
