THE TERMINATOR is just like HALLOWEEN II or FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER. But instead of Michael Myers with a knife or Jason Voorhees with a machete, we get a cyborg Arnold Schwarzenegger with lots of guns. Co-written/produced by Gale Anne Hurd and co-written/directed by James Cameron, this is a relentlessly satisfying, low-budget sci-fi-action-slasher that radiates with MTV aesthetics, a killer synth score, and a powerful performance from Linda Hamilton–also known as the only person capable of saving the future from total destruction.
