Using the basic beats of Sam Raimi’s THE EVIL DEAD (1981) to construct something entirely new, EVIL DEAD (2013) is best described as the movie version of a black metal album. Directed by Fede Alvarez (ALIEN: ROMULUS) and featuring a gut-wrenchingly powerful lead role from Jane Levy, this is an ultra-gory bazooka blast of physical carnage and emotional turmoil. This movie was unjustly dismissed when it was released in 2013. It’s time to remedy that. Screening an archival 35mm print of the theatrical cut.

About Evil Dead
Mia, a drug addict, is determined to kick the habit. To that end, she asks her brother, David, his girlfriend, Natalie and their friends Olivia and Eric to accompany her to their family's remote forest cabin to help her through withdrawal. Eric finds a mysterious Book of the Dead at the cabin and reads aloud from it, awakening an ancient demon. All hell breaks loose when the malevolent entity possesses Mia.
